When you submit a device's IMEI or serial number, TheftCheck performs a multi-layer verification process. First, it validates the format and checks the manufacturer's registry to confirm the device's authenticity. Then it cross-references against a stolen device database containing blacklisted IMEIs from telecom companies and police records.
The system also checks activation history â whether the phone has been previously activated, sold, or refurbished â helping determine its true condition and status before you finalize any purchase or sale.
All checks are handled through secure, encrypted API integrations with manufacturer and government databases. We do not permanently store personal data or device information unless you explicitly consent. Our systems use end-to-end encryption, and stolen device lists are continuously synchronized through real-time feeds from partner agencies.
